We all know the movie, My Friend’s Wedding, starring Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts, right?!? Well, this is truly a post dedicated to my REAL best friend’s wedding which was way too long ago for only now posting it! Tracy and I have known each other since we were two years old and she is basically the sister I never had. Just like most long term friendships, we even had a few years where we never talked or saw each other. Of course, there was no good reason for this, other than we were in college and miles apart. A big part of our friendship is due to the fact that our parents have remained friends for the entire 30 years! So, when I got married, it was an easy decision to call Tracy up after rarely talking to her for a few years and ask her to be in my wedding. Since then we have been as close as ever.
Here are a few, quick, memories of Tracy through the years:
- Village Monissori School, Irvine, circa 1984 - We actually managed to ditch our last practice of our Kindergarten graduation ceremony. You ask how??? Well, we pretended to still sleep during rest time to see if the teachers would fall for it and they DID! Hey…we were only in kindergarten at the time. We found ourselves in the big room all by ourselves and had a ball playing with all of those toys.
- Irvine Dance Academy, circa 1985-1988 - We had all but one dance class together over three years!!!! Pretty amazing!
- Annie, circa 1982 - Our mothers took us to see Annie together in the theatre and Tracy and I got into a fight and she pinched me in the stomach. Sure, it’s funny now…
- Montana, circa 1992 - Tracy’s family is from Bozeman, Montana and so we decided to do a family trip with them one year. It was so much fun. That is until Tracy said, “follow me” as she walked into the bull pen and I trustingly went along. Then, I saw the bull start to charge us. I just remember diving through the barbed wire fence.
- Montana, circa 1992 - Tracy’s aunt had these beautiful horse and we decided to go riding. Well, because I still hadn’t learned my lesson from the bull pen I decided to hop on the horse that Tracy told me to and then she slapped the horses ass so hard that it freaked out and charged with my, little, inexperienced body flailing around frantically. I just held on to that mane as tightly as possible. Ahhh… the good old days

We’ve had lots of fun over the years, but, her wedding was definitely one of my favorites of all. Here are a few of the pics I was able to get when I wasn’t on Maid of Honor duty.

I think I spent too much time here. I love candy way more than I should :-0

This was probably the most emotional time of the day besides when I had to give a speech…oh lordy!
